To know me is to know I love my wine. What you probably don't know is that I'd love to be more artistic.

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. It's National Wine Day.

So I knew I had to share the information about an awesome event coming to Western Connecticut State University ( WCSU ) on June 8.

A little bit of wine can get the creative juices flowing for sure. Here's your chance to have a fun night out while indulging your love of art.

The Sip & Sketch series returns to the Westside campus, 43 Lake Avenue Ext. in Danbury from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on June 8. It's presented by the WCSU Department of Art, and it will be held in the Drawing Studio ( room 241 ) located on the second floor of the Visual and Performing Arts Center.

What a great girls night out, night out with friends and family, even an interesting date night. You could learn all about the people you're with, with just one stroke.

WCSU says everyone is invited, no matter what their artistic skills, or lack thereof, though you must be 21 or older to attend.

The ticket fee of $25 per person includes admission and refreshments, wine and an assorted snack sample, as well as basic art supplies including charcoal and paper. You are welcome to bring your own drawing supplies too.

Interested? You should buy your tickets in advance at Summer Sip & Sketch

Cheers to you all today, National Wine Day. I say get a head start on the June 8 Sip & Sketch event by getting in the artistic mood now.
