There are 10 Sandy Hook families suing the maker and seller of the Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle used to murder students and educators.

According to an article in the Newstimes and Newsweek, the families who are suing the Remington Arms Co. are taking Presidential hopeful, Bernie Sanders, to task for his comments during the March 6 debate. Bernie said that the gun maker should be held liable if they knew they were selling to a criminal, but if they're selling the gun legally to a law abiding citizen, "What you're really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America."

Mark Barden, the son of six year old Daniel Barden, who was murdered at Sandy Hook, posted an online op-ed piece in the Washington Post this past Friday saying that if they should win this lawsuit, it's not about taking anyone's firearms away or putting an end to the manufacturing of firearms in this country.

Mr. Barden argued that their lawsuit is about the AR-15. Their argument is that this weapon is a military-style assault weapon and should not be available to the general public. It's a specialized military style weapon and is marketed as such.

Mr. Barden still has nightmares knowing that the last thing his sweet 6 year boy saw before he died was the ferocious barrel of a killing machine.
