What he used to be shy about, a Connecticut teen went and used to his advantage to gain acceptance into four Ivy League colleges.

The Norwalk High School senior says his college admission essay is about being raised by two moms and having a sperm donor for a dad, according to the Stamford Advocate. Chaz Bethel-Brescia’s upbringing made him ponder on paper: “perhaps the expectations of males in society should be redefined”, and that was one of the main concepts he explored in his college application composition.

That composition helped him score acceptance into not only the four Ivy League colleges to which he applied — Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Yale University , Princeton — and MIT, but also all 10 in total to which he applied.

Dan Sullivan told the Stamford Advocate, “this a rarity at Norwalk High School”. Dan is in charge of the guidance department at the school, and added that this was the best essay he’s seen in all his 20 years in the field. Way to go Chaz!
