I think you'd agree that some extra cash is always a good thing, especially around the holidays. The News-Times tells us that the beginning of October is always the time of year when the big bosses of the major retail stores set their sights on hiring temporary holiday employees for their stores. Wilson Checo, general manager of J.C. Penney in the Danbury Fair Mall told the News-Times they've already hired a bunch of sales associates for this year's holiday season. Checo went on to say that, "Historically we stat planning for seasonal hiring around the first week of September with hiring really ramping up during October."

Will the 2015 holiday season be a profitable one for retail in Danbury? Melissa Eigen, the marketing manager for the Mall told the News-Times, "Early hiring is certainly a good indicator of what the season will hold and we've seen a lot of signage at the retailer." Other indicators like the low cast of gas and the flip flopping Connecticut economy also come into play when measuring the financial success of retail during the holidays.
