It seems like every few weeks someone has a new survey out ranking Connecticut's cities and towns in terms of something: schools, income, crime rates, etc. Well, a new study has combined a lot of those rankings into a scientific formula.

The website Homesnacks took data about all 169 of Connecticut's towns, and even sliced and diced some towns into smaller segments (Northwest Harwinton? Seriously?) to come up with 267 communities ranked with an algorithm reflecting things like low crime, short commutes, unemployment rates, education, number of sunny days and population density into a final number.

The suburban New Haven town of Orange was deemed to be the best, with a 3-point lead over the #2 town, Wallingford.

Local towns ranked on the list include Monroe at #10, Brookfield at #12 Roxbury at #14, Bridgewater at #23, Newtown at #41, Bethel at #56, New Fairfield at #67, and Woodbury at #80.

Stepping out of the Top 100, Ridgefield came in at #121, New Milford at #123, Sherman at #126, and Danbury at #193.
