The Rolling Stones have officially asked Donald Trump to stop playing their songs at any of his campaign events according to the Associated Press.

Trump has never asked or gotten permission from the Stones to publicly play their music at his campaign rallies. Even though he is a very rich man, which he will consistently remind you of, "You Can't Always Get What You Want" Mr. Trump. You might remember that Adele, Steven Tyler, and Neil Young have also asked Trump to lay off their music as well.

Politicians don't need to get permission from artists to play their songs at campaign rallies, but, the political organization or venue needs to acquire a blanket license from the performing rights organizations ASCAP and/or BMI for all the music in the artist's repertoire.

I wish Trump would have consulted with me first about what Rolling Stones songs might be the most appropriate for his cause. I would have recommended, "Under My Thumb" "2000 Light Years From Home," "As Tears Go By," "Doom and Gloom," "Let It Bleed," and "Paint It Black."
