Riverfest Set For October 13 In New Milford

New Milford has done a lot of work on its riverfront over the last couple of years. They are ready to show it off with the inaugural New Milford Riverfest on October 13.

The event goes from 12:00 noon to 9:30 PM at Young's Field Park in New Milford. There will be food trucks, a beer and wine garden, music and entertainment, artisans and crafts, and tours of the new Housatonic Riverwalk as well as the downtown Village Center. Admission and parking are free, with a $5 per person donation suggested to help cover the costs of the event.

If you've been down Young's Field Road lately, you'll agree that the Riverwalk came out really nice, and the New Milford Riverfront Revitalization Committee is anxious to show the area off, as they envision the Downtown and Riverfront areas "a vibrant hub of commerce, recreation, entertainment and residential life." As a New Milford resident, I really like our downtown, and love the fact that we've got great restaurants, 2 breweries now, and plenty to do. I look forward to celebrating with you on the 13th.
