OK, I thought about this for days.  Should I or should I not talk about him this publicly?  I need to and he deserves recognition for the person he was.  This is my friend Matt and he passed last week.  This is just tragic, he was too young to go, he was a kind, strong and caring human.  HE WAS A MARINE!  He was patriotic, a great Catholic and from a great family.  His dad stood in the same place almost every week in mass at Sacred Heart.

Matt and I have known each other since I was 9.  We lived in Putnam Lake around the corner from each other.  They call us: "Lakers" and we are OK with that and Matt was sort of our leader.  We had an old school bus stop, I lived two streets down from him and we all of course had to walk to this bus stop instead of how they do it now where they drop everyone off at their house.  It was Matt, myself, my sister Renee, Katy and Casey Allo, Brian Masterson and Chris Lomedico and for awhile John Tuminello.  Matt and I used to take turns listening to my Walkman.  Ice Cube's: "Today was a good day" was a favorite. He always gargled mouthwash before getting on the bus. In High School he looked after me and after that I did not see him much.

When I got separated from my ex-wife Matt and I got close.  He was very supportive of my career and would always listen to the show and text me.  That's who he was.  He lifted his friends up.  He texted me every week to let me know that he was putting together a party for friends or just to sit around and watch football.  He loved his friends and family and everyone was welcome.

I saw him a few days before he passed and he was excited about life, I met his beautiful girlfriend and we talked about the dumb things we have done.

This is the only picture  I have with him....

We met at the Everclear concert last year and had a blast.  Him and I were Hula-Hooping, there was a lady there selling them.  He was actually really good at it.

Matt, you will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers will be with your family.  You were a great  American, a family man and an amazing friend I will miss our talks.
