I’m a big Steely Dan fan so this is not easy for me to say but here it goes: Donald Fagen. I believe I just caught you in a lie.

Fagen recently revealed in a tour diary he is writing for Rolling Stone that he has never heard of AC/DC saying, “[A tour was] booked after we were invited to play at the Coachella festival as a token old-guy band along with AC/DC, whoever they are. I stopped following most mainstream radio rock soon after we put out our first Steely Dan record in ’72. Really, I’ve heard the name for years, but not sure what they sound like.”

Well I found that hard to believe so I decided to do some extensive investigating on this.

Finally, after an exhaustive search through old musty-smelling Steely Dan articles and piles of dust-covered Steely Dan demos in my attic I finally found the evidence I was looking for: A cassette containing some very revealing audio. Please don’t ask me how I found this tape. If I told you I’d have to kill you and I really don’t want to do that.

Check out this raw audio of a demo made by Fagen who suspiciously titled it “Donald Fagen’s Top Secret Tape”. The quality is a little rough but it’s pretty obvious that Mr. Fagen knows very well who AC/DC is:

THE EVIDENCE

This is hard to dispute Mr. Fagen. I am waiting on your response sir.
