If I win the huge Powerball jackpot, will I really share it with Ethan and Lou? Would you?

I feel some discord coming on! Can I trust Ethan and Lou to make good on the promise to share a portion of their winnings? For that matter, can they trust me? And of course, as evidenced by the calls this morning from listeners, it becomes dicey in the area of "gifting" and "taxes." So much so that the i95 Morning Show even chatted on-air with Attorney Liz Hudak of Berkman & Hudak ( Carmel NY ) for some input.

Ours was a "verbal" contract and that doesn't really mean squat! Experts say you probably should think twice before jumping into the office lottery pool for tomorrow's record one-point-four billion dollar Powerball jackpot. We've all heard the stories of work place winnings going bad. The lesson learned there is it's important to appoint one person to buy the tickets and have a contract ( that everyone signs ) spelling out how you'll take your winnings if you hit the jackpot. Sample contracts are available online.

Did you know that this past Saturday 28 people DID become MILLIONAIRES matching some of the numbers. Don't tell the boys - but I've got my fingers crossed on winning the "consolation" prize! I could be very happy with that, and our deal was ONLY sharing if one of us won the WHOLE jackpot. We all know the odds of that.
