Things you need to know on May 7.

Thanks to MetroNews Source for the following.

  • Pollen season in the Northeast is pretty bad this year. A hard winter, a late spring and the apparent effects of climate change are creating what one expert is calling a pollen tsunami. Allergy and Asthma Care of New York says early spring pollen, mid-spring pollen and grass pollen are hitting all at the same time this year. I have always suffered from "seasonal" sinus headaches but this year it's manifesting itself into issues with my eyes. Went to my doctor the other day and even she said this season is bad. I'm calling it the Trifecta of No Good!
  • The dean of students at Ridgefield High School is on leave after being arrested for drunk driving in Fairfield. Kevin Callahan was arrested Sunday night after crashing into a traffic sign. Callahan is also a physical education teacher and has been the varsity football coach at Ridgefield High for 16 years. He's due in court to answer the charges on May 18th.
  • It's been all over social media! McDonald's is bringing back the Hamburglar.Last seen in 2002, the character was re-introduced on Wednesday. And he's been seriously revamped.  McDonald's VP of U.S. Marketing told "Mashable" the new Hamburglar's look has "evolved over time."Online commenters have described him as everything from a "suburban dad-bro," to a "heartburglar," and more. I'm calling him "creepy as hell" for sure.
  • How's your phone doing? Not totally happy? Well - Apple's Siri digital assistant is going to get a facelift in the new iPhone operating system. The website 9to5Mac.com is citing sources as saying the new system will have a Siri that's modeled after the Siri that's on Apple Watches.Don't get too "giddy" yet though because the  iOS 9 Monarch is still in development and the official release date is not set.
