Connecticut State Police say that the truck that allegedly struck and killed a Bridgeport woman on Route 8 last week belongs to an electric company in Newtown.

The Daily Voice is reporting that after an investigation, Connecticut State Police have determined that the truck that allegedly hit 54-year-old Maria Mendoza-Robles is owned by Newtown Electric Company on Huntingtown Road in Newtown. Mendoza-Roblesas was struck by a blue Peterbilt dump truck as she crossed the busy road near exit 5 in Bridgeport at about 8:00pm on Thursday night (October 26).

Police are still investigating this alleged hit and run incident. They have a "person of interest" that may have been the driver of the truck but they have not released the name of that person yet.
