A New Canaan, CT woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon as police say she is accused of driving drunk. Residents reported to police that a woman was sitting in the intersection of Grove and Pine Streets with her eyes closed.

According to the Patch, Police dispatched units to check on the woman. They say when officers began to speak to her, they smelled an odor of vanilla on her breath and she was slurring her speech. Authorities also reported there were several empty bottles of vanilla extract in the car.

After a failed sobriety test, the 50-year-old woman was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence. She was held in lieu of $250 bond. She is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 24.

If you are curious, your typical bottle of vanilla extract is about 35% alcohol by volume. In comparison, your average beer has like 4.5-6 percent alcohol by volume, Wine usually is around %11, and a bottle of liquor has a wide range, but averages about the SAME as vanilla extract.

If this is all true, she was down to party for sure, you can't do it behind the wheel, though.
