Police: Sandy Hook Man Arrested on Drug + Gun Charges After Domestic Dispute
A Sandy Hook man has been arrested on both drug and gun charges after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at his home.
According to a press release from the Newtown Police Department, when officers arrived at the Sandy Hook home Thursday (Feburary 22) in response to the domestic disturbance that had reportedly gotten physical and included the threat of a firearm, they say that both the unnamed victim and 32-year-old Patrick Laughlin had sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. It was during the investigation, however, that things got even worse for Laughlin.
The Newtown PD says that they found a loaded shotgun, large amounts of cocaine, and marijuana packaged for sale. By the time they were done, they booked Patrick Laughlin and charged him with disorderly conduct, threatening with a firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and having a loaded shotgun in a motor vehicle.
He was released on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior court Friday, February 23.
