Police say a New Milford, CT man is in hot water after losing his cool during a reported road rage incident on I-684 Monday (May 8).

According to a press release from the New York State Police, officers from the Somers barracks responded to a report of a road rage incident just after 8:00 PM on the popular highway, I-684, as it where it passes through the Town of North Salem.

The report says that 28-year-old, Alison Fritsche of New Milford, allegedly pointed what was believed to be a gun at another driver during a road rage incident. While the reason for the confrontation was not outlined in the report, Troopers caught up with Fritsche near exit 8, and found that the weapon he is believed to have displayed was in fact a black BB gun designed to look like a 9mm firearm.

I'll be honest, I can't think of an easier way to get yourself killed. It's very easy to imagine that if the other party involved also had a weapon, the results of this story would be much more tragic. Not only that, but what about the responding officers who were focused on searching for a man who they had no choice but to consider armed and dangerous? Thankfully, even in the heat of the moment, the NYSP was able to identify the weapon as the BB gun without any further incident.

Alison Fritsche was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was issued and appearance ticket and is set to appear in court on May 22.
