Police are investigating a two-car crash with entrapment involving a mail truck that occurred in Pawling on Tuesday.


New York State Police from the Dover barracks were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 for a reported two-car collision with entrapment that occurred on Route 22 in Pawling.

An investigation revealed that  Jordan M. Iovino, 25, of Kent, Connecticut was traveling north on Route 22. A USPS mail truck, operated by Michael Renzo, 49, of Hyde Park was stopped in the northbound lane waiting to make a left turn.

Iovino reported struck the rear quarter panel of the mail truck, and exited the roadway striking a tree on the northbound shoulder, according to a press release.

Pawling Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported Iovino to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Renzo declined medical attention at the scene of the crash.
