It was just a minor traffic accident, and one man promised to pay the other for the damage he'd caused, but then, police say it took a horrible turn.

The Connecticut Post has reported that Damon Bester of Bloomfield, CT was involved in a minor crash with William Smalls in Hartford, after which Bester had allegedly agreed to compensate Smalls $1,000 and some weed for the damage to Small's vehicle.

In a gruesome turn of events, police say Bester shot and killed Smalls on June 25 and has now been charged with murder. He was arraigned and is being held on $1.5 million bond. Bester's family has refused to comment.

Reports say Smalls told a friend he was meeting Bester to collect the $1,000 and 20 minutes later, Smalls had been shot and killed.
