As you may have read late last week, a very dangerous police chase ensued in Downtown Danbury on Thursday (Dec. 1) after an officer spotted a vehicle that he knew to be stolen. Now, the operator of that vehicle has been arrested upon his release from Danbury Hospital.

According to a report from the Danbury Police Department, 33-year-old Ricardo Andre of Danbury was the driver of the vehicle that rolled over and landed in a driveway on Mountainville Road following the chase. Both Andre and an unidentified female passenger were transported from the scene to Danbury Hosptial with serious injuries.

As reported today from the DPD, Ricardo Andre was arrested upon being released from the hospital on three outstanding warrants. He was charged with larceny, violation of probation, three counts of failure to appear, interfering with an officer, reckless endangerment, illegal operation of a motor vehicle, and engaging in police pursuit. Andre is currently being held on $20,000 bonds for two of the warrants, and a $2,000 bond on the third warrant.

Earlier in the year, the NewsTimes reported that Ricardo Andre was tased and arrested after an attempt to flee officers that were arresting him on shoplifting charges at the local Walmart.
