Lance McCullers may not have made a statement with his pitching, but he sure did with his choice of kicks.

McCullers, a highly-touted pitcher for the Houston Astros, made his major league debut on Monday night. His performance took a backseat -- or should we say Bat-seat -- to his Batman cleats.

When you think about it, it's pretty ironic that a pitcher would show so much love for Bat-man, but considering there's no ERA-man, K-man or Induce a Double Play-man, you gotta make do, right?

McCullers didn't exactly put forth a superheroic effort -- he went four-and-two-thirds innings, giving up a run and three hits to go with five strikeouts and three walks as the A's topped the Astros 2-1.
