It's estimated that over 7,200,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the Hudson River in the Hudson Valley in the last week.

On Tuesday, an estimated 5,000 gallons of raw sewage per minute spilled into the Hudson River and Quassaick Creek, according to the New York Wastewater Treatment Plant in Newburgh.

The discharge began at 2 Renwick Street in Newburgh. Officials are not sure how long the discharged lasted for. A sewage treatment plant is located at the address, according to Google Maps.

On Wednesday, officials from Newburgh reported about 5,000 gallons of untreated waste per minute spilled into the Hudson River for 24 hours.

The discharge also began on Renwick Street in Newburgh. The Boat Launch area was potentially impacted, according to the New York Wastewater Treatment Plant in Newburgh.

There are 1,440 minutes in 24 hours. Which means an estimated 7,200,000 gallons of raw sewage leaked into the Hudson River on Wednesday, if officials are correct with their estimation.

Weather conditions are to blame for both raw sewage discharges, officials say.

Last week, Hudson Valley Post reported that at least 468,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the Hudson River in Dutchess and Orange counties.
