The water is probably going to be as busy as our roads through this 4th of July holiday week. Police are increasing their presence especially on the water to prevent boating under the influence according to WFSB, Hartford. It’s happening in conjunction with 'Operation Dry Water', a national campaign. Boating under the influence, is a big problem according to the Coast Guard stationed in New Haven. They will be watching the water ways of Connecticut along with many other agencies on patrol, ensuring that boaters are operating safe and sober. They're also looking to educate regarding the dangers of boating under the influence. So if you’re boating this 4th of July you might just see the Coast Guard, or other law enforcement affiliated with 'Operation Dry Water' looking to keep Connecticut safe through the holiday.
