One of Our Saddest Days of the Year [PHOTOS]
As I've told anyone who will listen, our pontoon boat is our "serenity now" during the summer and one of our saddest days is when it has to come out of the water at the end of the season. The upside? The colors of the fall foliage season.
Our boat we've named "Radio Waves," launches, thanks to Phil at Chatterton Marina, in early May and sadly has to be dry-docked on October 25th. I've obnoxiously taken hundreds of photos of Candlewood Lake and popped them up on my FB page through the years. Guess what? They just keep on coming!
Shown below is 'Shelter Harbor' which is off the main thoroughfare of speeding boats during the prime season, which is why it's the perfect location for boats to cast anchor for the day. There's also a rope swing, which is not visible on the right. You need to get there early if you want a spot on a Saturday or Sunday.
I'm not certain of the name of this island but it's a popular hang out spot for boaters because of the sandbar that juts out from the island.
Every once in awhile the unexpected happens.
And then there's my friend, Dave Dillion, who, through the years, has made a car that looks like a spaceship, a drivable living room, a howitzer that shoots pumpkins a half mile, and his 'Dragon Boat.'
Sometimes you just never know who you'll find hangin' out in the water.
