SELMA……A true story about the epic march led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama which culminated in President Johnson signing the the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement.
“Selma” is a movie that tells the story about how a beloved leader and visionary, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., along with his brothers and sisters in the movement, set the wheels in motion that forever altered history. I saw this move and it’s powerful, it’s brutal, and it’s shows you how unbelievable it is that human beings can hate other human beings simply because the color of their skin is different. The saddest part of all…. there are people who still have that mindset in 2015.
The movie, “Selma” is now playing at the Ridgefield Playhouse through April 7th. Tickets are only $8.50 and $6.00 for seniors, students, and matinees before 5pm. Moms and Dads, I recommend you load up your kids in the minivan for a history lesson they will never forget.
