  • President Obama will take part in a town hall meeting tonight televised on CNN to discuss his new executive orders aimed at reducing gun violence. Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest said he hopes the event will start a national conversation about gun violence.

 

  • There's still major problems with the new software system at the CT Department of Motor Vehicles. A backlog of paperwork is added to a stack of complaints from drivers being pulled over for suspended registration. 

 

  • CT State Senate Republican leader Len Fasano says neither the state, or it's taxpayers, should bail out the over budget Hartford Yard Goats baseball stadium project. Fasano says he hopes Hartford figures out a way to deal with the problem and move forward with the stadium.

 

  • An unseasonably warm winter is adding to problems for Macy's. More than 45-hundred positions are being eliminated at Macy's, following disappointing holiday sales. The news comes as Macy's announces the closing of 36 stores this spring.
