Newtowns’ Dancing Crossing Guard

She's a 47 year old crossing guard stationed on Berkshire Road in front of Newtown High School and she's got the moves!Her name's Kathy Holick, but everyone calls her "Kat", and residents call her a breath of fresh air. Kat dances and waves as she directs students and buses in a timely and organized manner with a huge smile on her face! Some residents will go out of their way, while running their daily errands, just to see Kat dance and wave. She's become an inspiration and a sign of hope in this community that's still recovering from a senseless tragedy. Students will even stop by with coffee, water, and sometimes even flowers. If you should get the chance to pass by Kat, the dancing crossing guard, make sure to pay it forward with a wave and a smile!
