Newtown Is the Scene of Another Fatal Crash

A week after a motorcycle crash claimed a life in Newtown, a young woman has died in a car crash there too.

Less than a week ago I shared the story of the passing of Newtown resident Martin Amidon:

Now according to a press release from the Newtown Police Department, another accident has claimed a life. On April 23 at 7:47 PM, the Newtown Police Department responded to an accident that happened near 64 Currituck Road. The report states that the operator of the motorcycle has been identified.

Jaclyn Ann Schultz - age 27 - of Newtown was taken from the accident site by the Newtown Ambulance. Schultz was pronounced deceased at Danbury Hospital as a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident.

While the police were able to speak to several witnesses, they are still seeking more information. If  you might have seen the accident take place or the motorcycle in operation prior to the accident you are asked to contact Officer Pirhala at 203-426-5841. The Newtown Police say the accident is still under investigation.
