The big debate in the educational field lately has been the use of Common Core inside the classroom and how effective it is.

According to the Putnam Daily Voice, New York State is planning to shorten common core spring time tests. The New York state education commissioner said that the spring Common Core exams will be shorter after many complaints from parents, reported by the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Apparently the long length of the annual English and Math tests are one reason parents have been upset over the tests. There will also be fewer questions in every subject in every grade to speed along the process.

I don't have any children yet, but even if I did, I wouldn't be a fan of the Common Core standards based on what I've seen. Standardized tests have never been something I've been a fan of as they don't prove use of real world knowledge.
