October brings lots of scary things, like witches, ghosts and goblins. There aren't many more frightening things out there this year than "Totes McGoats," the new recycling mascot for the town of Niagara Falls, NY.

The Niagara Falls Solid Waste Education and Enforcement team created Totes to go into area schools and bring attention to the city's recycling program. And apparently to give the kids nightmares.

Totes is already a hit on social media. He has his own Twitter page and even an impostor Twitter account already! Both pages are definitely tongue-in-cheek, and most Buffalo-area residents seem to have a sense of humor about their newest social media superstar.

"The purpose is to educate the public more about recycling and the responsibility of environmental stewardship," Niagara Falls city administrator Donna Owens told Time Warner News.

Fans of Totes can look forward to a promotional video and school visits from their cloven-hoofed superstar. AND, if you're obsessed with Totes to the point of wanting to BE him, you're in luck! This mask, a light blue T-shirt, black turtleneck, khakis and some work gloves and you're good to go!
