Get your designated driver lined up and strap on the feed bag, because the annual Oktoberfest at the Arion Singing Society in New Milford is this Saturday and Sunday.

Every Labor Day weekend for the last 18 years, the German club on Rt. 7 across from the high school has thrown one of the town's biggest parties. Huge tents will go up this week, and all weekend long the field outside the club will be filled with revelers enjoying German food and beer.

This year's menu includes bratwurst, wieners, Hungarian kielbasa, and potato pancakes. They of course will have plenty of imported German beer, and somewhat frighteningly their website also states the Jaegermeister and schnapps will be flowing as well.

There will be German music also, with The Almdudler Unplugged playing both afternoons and Die Sclauberger performing both nights.

Admission is $10, and children under 12 are admitted free. There is plenty of parking across the street at the high school, with very patient police officers getting partiers safely back and forth across Rt. 7.

The Oktoberfest goes from 1 to 10 pm this Saturday and Sunday. See you there. I should be easy to find; I'll be the guy eating a kielbasa and drinking a beer.
