The late John Kapetanopoulos opened the Holiday Restaurant in New Milford in 1964 and was also part of The Trackside Cafe in New Milford. Now the family tradition continues with the opening of The Iron Rail on Railroad Street in New Milford.

The News-Times reports that Kapetanopoulos's son Konstantine( better known as Chuck) and his family has opened the Iron Rail. The authentic mahogany bar, dating back to 1902 has been restored along with the original brickwork.

Chuck's son, Yiannis the restaurant's manager told the New-Times, "We're going for a classic rustic look. We want to create a family-friendly atmosphere."

Considering the area, dinner prices are reasonable from the $14 roasted seasonal veggie pasta to the $25 grilled rib eye steak.

The Iron Rail also offers a low priced children's menu that includes pasta with butter for $3.00 to chicken with french fries for $6.00. Their weekend specials include a prime rib dinner for $25.00 both Friday and Saturday nights.

Their signature beverages include craft brewed beers and their Sunday brunch bottomless mimosas. Yes, I said bottomless mimosas.

Their appetizer menu features french onion soup, fried chicken strips, a crock of chili, and butcher cut bacon with a guiness, brown sugar, and honey glaze sauce. Their dinner menu features Grill Pressed Sandwiches, amazing burgers, salmon, cheddar mac n' cheese, slow roasted short ribs and many more menu items.
