The family of the 22-year-old Staff Sgt. from New Fairfield was given the Bronze Star Medal with Honor this past Saturday at the 105th Base Defense Squadron Headquarters at Stewart Airport. Lobraico was serving in Afghanistan when his base unit was attacked near Bagram Air force Base in September of 2013.

Military officials stated that Lobraico's actions during a firefight allowed his team to safely seek cover and return fire. The award was presented to Lobraico's parents, Master Sgt. Todd J. Lobraico Sr. and Lt. Col. Linda Rohatsch.
