Need Some Good News? Eat at Good News Cafe in Woodbury

Mrs. Large took me out to dinner on Friday night for Father's Day.

One of our all-time favorite restaurants is Good News Cafe, 694 Main Street South in Woodbury, CT. Local and organic ingredients are featured prominently, as evidenced by the garden at the entrance to the restaurant that owner Carole Peck was tending as we walked in.

The menu is uncommon, featuring every vegetable known to mankind. I decided on Goat's Cheese Ravioli, with asparagus, beets, nut-less herb pesto, and sunflower granola. Oh my stars! The smell coming off the plate was heavenly. I inhaled this dish.

The green stuff in the middle was not guacamole as I suspected, it is the garlic pesto, and it was inredible!

Mrs. Large chose the Gemelli Pasta with asparagus, gorgonzola, & spiced pecans

Equally outstanding. She truly enjoyed every aspect of this dish.

The Good News starts off your meal with a flat bread Naan, and warmed bread with olive oil. The Naan is so peppery, it burns your mouth, but man, I crave it. Beef, Poultry, Seafood, and Vegan/Gluten-Free options are all available. Desserts are incredible, as you can imagine in this highly-respected, and highly-rated dining establishment.

All in all, a 5 Large Star experience! I highly recommend Good News Cafe if you've never been. Ambiance, location, world-class cuisine, and impeccable service, Good News truly has it all.
