  • The Connecticut NAACP is launching its own investigation into the death of a Redding man in April of 2014. Redding Police ruled that Gugsa Dabela took his own life in the incident, but his family and the NAACP have doubts about that finding.The state's attorney's office in Danbury is continuing to investigate the death.
  • A day to never be forgotten. Japan is marking 70 years since the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. That deadly bombing killed at least 140,000 people, many of whom suffered from radiation poisoning. Japan's Prime Minister called for worldwide nuclear disarmament at a special ceremony commemorating the moment the bomb landed.
  • There are a bunch of unofficial wait time apps for Disneyland and the other Disney theme parks. But Disneyland has finally put out their own. The official wait-time smartphone app that shows you wait times for rides and attractions both at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Park officials say such information can help visitors better plan their day at Disneyland. The app is available on the iPhone and on Android phones.
  • The Obama administration announced in June that a woman will appear on the new $10 bill, marking the first time in more than a century that a female face will appear on paper currency in the U.S. And Eleanor Roosevelt tops a nationwide poll.The Treasury Department gets the final say on who will replace Alexander Hamilton. The redesigned ten dollar bills will be released in 2020.
