This is my sister in law Patty.  She is a cancer survivor.  I hope you will support her in her effort to raise funds to fight this disease.

Below is the e-mail she sent me.

Hey Lou-

On Dec. 05, 2015 my friends and I will be hosting an event in Danbury, CT in honor of my 7 year cancer anniversary. At 20-years-old, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I went through an intense 4 months of chemotherapy in which I spent most of my time bed ridden or in the hospital.

The fact that I was so young was a blessing in disguise because it made me naive to what I was going through and only allowed for a positive mindset which I believe carried me through it all. And of course the surreal support from my family and friends.

Because of this, I decided a few years ago that I wanted to pay it forward and have decided to celebrate my anniversary by somehow giving back to the community. This year my team and I, known as The Reform, have come together to produce an amazing evening of shopping, music and charity. The Reform is a community focused on enriching our world through the creative process.

A collective support network combining event planning, art installation and charity to help form a more positive, creative and progressive reality through collaborative efforts.

All of my adult life I have tried to find different ways to help others. Whether it be giving up a week of my life to travel to other countries and build homes for the less fortunate, or donating money to a charity, throwing a party or whatever it may be I think its important for all of us to realize how lucky we are and how much we have that it is only right to give back.

I think 'partying for a purpose' is great because the generation I am a part of and even those younger than me are consumed by social media and what the next 'cool' thing to do is.

So supporting a charity by going out on a Saturday night, having a couple drinks, dancing and shopping, like you would any other weekend, allows those that want to help out or be a part of something do that and feel like they made a difference.

And that's the goal for Pop-Up for Charity, for people to feel good about themselves and in turn pay it forward so that someone else can feel good too!
