After hearing rave reviews about the homemade Italian burrata, roasted tomatoes, homemade Italian ices and handmade cannolis, we just had to pull over.

This past weekend, Mindy and I were driving home from the Bethlehem Fair when we spotted what appeared to be a roadside drive-thru called Ziggy's Italian Specialties right on Rt. 202 in New Preston. Friends of ours had invited us for dinner and began raving about the authenticity of Ziggy's homemade Italian food and then proceeded to serve up some Ziggy appetizers — OMG, Molto delizioso!

After that night, we knew we had to stop and experience Ziggy's for ourselves. I introduced myself to the owners, Sherry and her husband Alex, who were two of the most delightful individuals I had ever met.

As Sherry began creating a sampler platter for us to take home, I found out that Ziggy's was not a new venture, but had been in business for almost five years. I've also heard their homemade Italian ices are so amazing that at times, there's a line of cars just waiting to score their favorite flavors.
