i95 is throwing another great party July 18 on the City Center Danbury Green: Bacon & Brew Fest. We'll have all kinds of bacon-based food to chow down on, ice cold beers and great music, including Mountain's Leslie West.

Leslie West formed Mountain in the late 60's, and they were one of the featured bands at Woodstock. Their signature song, "Mississippi Queen" reached number 21 on the Billboard charts in 1970.

Mountain followed up "Mississippi Queen" with album-rock classics like "Nantucket Sleighride" and "Theme From An Imaginary Western." They broke up in 1974 but reformed in the early 80's and are still active today.

In addition to his work with Mountain, West has recorded many solo albums, and worked with Ozzy Osbourne, Bo Diddley, Warren Haynes, Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, the Who and many others.

His 2011 solo album "Unusual Suspects" contains collaborations with Slash, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde and Steve Lukather. His 2013 album, "Still Climbing" finds him in better voice than ever since quitting smoking. and features guest appearances from Dee Snider, Jonny Lang and the late Johnny Winter.

Leslie West will cap off the Bacon & Brew Fest with a set of loud, raucous Blues and Rock & Roll not to be missed! Tickets for Bacon and Brew Fest are available here.

Here's Leslie tearing up "Mississippi Queen" on the Dennis Miller show. And yes that is local hero Richie Scarlet on bass in this video, thanks for noticing!

Listen to Tim Sheehan weekdays from 3 to 7 PM on 95.1 FM, online at i95rock.com/listen-live/ or by downloading the radioPup app for your mobile device.
