Mahopac man changing flat tire was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs and was in possession of a number of drugs.

New York State Police responded to assist the Somers Police Department to assist a motorist changing a flat tire on Route 139 after local police believed the driver was impaired. An investigation revealed that 32-year-old Patrick T. McDougal, of Mahopac was impaired by drugs and in possession of a controlled substance.

McDougal was charged with felony DWAI when a criminal history revealed two prior DWI related convictions from within the previous 10 years. Additionally, the defendant was found to be operating the 2010 Subaru with a revoked driver’s license and without a court ordered interlock device.

McDougal was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and circumvention of interlock, misdemeanors.

McDougal was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear at a later date.
