It was my single greatest athletic achievement. I played softball against Bernie Williams, and I showed up to play.

It turns out, even New York Yankee legends like Bernie Williams and Micky Rivers are not enough to stop me. I was three for three on the day. There were two outs, with two men on base in the bottom of the ninth inning, and we had a tie game. I step to the plate, Bernie comes up to me, and whispers in my ear. He said, "You will not get a hit." Boy, was he wrong.

I smashed a walk off single into left, and victory was mine. When Bernie called the show this morning, I figured he needed a reminder:

Get out to the Ridgefield Playhouse this Saturday. You can see Bernie Williams play softball with his pal, Jim Leyritz. After the game, Bernie will do a sound check, and then take the stage with his jazz band and perform. All the proceeds from the game and the concert benefit the Hillside Food Outreach. Hillside is a great organization that gets food to those in need in our local area.
