On average, 22 veterans a day commit suicide in the U.S.

Someone came up with the idea to create a push up challenge to raise awareness to that fact. I don't know whose idea it was, but I think it's a great idea. When my buddy, Joey Palumbo, challenged me, I knew I had to take part in this. I lost a friend to suicide, who was also a veteran, so this is something I took very seriously.

It's not a great sacrifice to put aside a few minutes each day for just a few push ups. The sacrifices that our veterans, and their families, make for us on a daily basis is undeniable. It is because of them that we are free to live our lives how we choose.

I am free to work a job I love, and have my family live under a blanket of protection, because of our veterans. More needs to be done for our men and women returning from duty. They need our support long after active duty. They deserve our respect and appreciation.

Again, I was nominated by Joe Palumbo, and I have chosen to nominate Jimmy Hedrick. James, I know you will do it right.
