This weekend, ex-New York Yankee great, Bernie Williams comes to Ridgefield to take part in two of his favorite things: baseball and playing jazz guitar.

These days Bernie prefers softball to baseball because it gives him the opportunity to help raise money for a cause he strongly believes in....making sure no one goes hungry.

Bernie's in town to head up a charity softball game on Sunday, August 30 at the ball field next to the Ridgefield Playhouse to help raise money for Hillside Food Outreach and he's bringing along a couple of ex-Yankee buddies to help out, pitcher Jeff Nelson and Micky Rivers!

Game time is at 1pm and admission is $20. At 7:30pm on Sunday evening, Bernie takes the stage guitar in hand where he and his jazz band will treat you to an evening of latin flavored jazz from the Ridgefield Playhouse stage.

Tickets are available at 203-438-5795 and/or www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org. Lou and I had the honor of speaking to Bernie about his love of music and baseball.
