Legendary Rock & Soul singer Joe Cocker has passed away at age 70.

His agent, Barrie Marshall, confirmed that Cocker had died of an undisclosed illness.

The leather-lunged Cocker rose to stardom with his cover of the Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends."  His performance of the song was one of the highlights of the Woodstock festival.

Cocker's string of hits continued through the 70's, 80's and into the 90's, with his catalog boasting such classics as "Feelin' Alright," "Delta Lady," "The Letter," "You Are So Beautiful," and in later years "Unchain My Heart" and "You Can Leave Your Hat On." He earned a Grammy in 1982 for his duet "Up Where We Belong" with Jennifer Warnes.

Cocker remained a superstar right up to the time of his death.  His Eurpoean tour of arenas last year broke his own attendance records, according to the BBC.
