In December of 2013, Lou and I invited the author of a book titled, We Don't Die: A Skeptic's Discovery of Life After Death, to drop by the studio, and talk about that very concept. Her name is Sandra Champlain, and she grew up in Brookfield listening to I-95. She currently owns the Kent Coffee and Chocolate Shop, and is a culinary school graduate. Currently, she is the head chef for world class race car teams in the American LeMans Series.

Do you believe that your soul goes somewhere after you die? Do you believe in out-of-body experiences? Dying is the most common fear that we all share, and what follows is the most painful emotion we call grief. It boggles my mind that I'm of Medicare and Social Security age. The years have flown by, and they seem to be moving at warp speed. This is why I choose to believe that there's something after we pass.

I have two very good semi-normal friends who claim they've had out-of-body experiences. Each one of them has explained their experience to me in great detail, and I desperately want to believe them for my own piece of mind.

It's almost unimaginable to think about what it's going to be like when your life partner passes on. How do even begin to manage the grief?! Chapter 10 of this book,We Don't Die: A Skeptic's Discovery of Life After Death is titled, "Surviving Grief." It obviously can't take that raw emotion away, but it can help you manage it. I hope, in some small way, this has been a comfort. I consider Sandra Champlain a friend, and if you had any questions about her book, I'm almost positive she would get back to you personally through her website.
