This website danburytreasurehunt.com claims that there is cash stashed all over our area and that if you find it, you keep it.

Just a quick glance at the website and you instantly realize this is a promotional vehicle for one of those buy your own energy deals. If there is cash stashed around our area, it's a genius advertising stunt for them. $1,000 is chump change for an ad campaign, and this one will get noticed because people love cash. Not only will it have people running to their website, but they will have to go back and get their clues twice a week. Brilliant.

My real problem is not the measly amount of money that has or has not been stashed. My problem with the whole concept is buying my energy from my neighbors, and the hard sell approach that they come at you with. The last time I heard about one of these deals was from my cousin. He chewed my ear off for a half an hour at a family party about how I should buy my energy from him and not the power company. Problem is, my cousin is a nipple head that can barely be trusted with a pair of scissors. I'll pay a few extra dollars a month for my energy, and move on with my life.

So, if you dare wasting your time running around Danbury looking to haul in that hefty $1,000 in cash you won't see me out there. Just one less person to compete with. Happy hunting weirdos.
