Police are trying to find out the reason why a 55-year-old New Fairfield woman died. Homicide has not been ruled out.

According to an article on fox61.com, the woman was found dead inside a home at 26 Candlewood Road, which is located in a private lakeside community in New Fairfield. Police are not ruling the death a homicide, but are calling it untimely and suspicious. The identity of the woman is still being sought, but according to records, 55-year-old Susan Guido was living at the address.

When the NewsTimes asked a neighbor about the person who lived at the 26 Candlewood Road address, she told them the house was rented to a woman who moved in during the month of January. The woman's body was transferred to the state medical examiner's office, where an autopsy will be performed. When asked to comment on the suspicious death, New Fairfield First Selectman Susan Chapman told the NewsTimes:

I know it's an active investigation and I've been told there isn't any danger to the public, but I don't have any other information about the matter.
