Jimmy whose actual name is Jimmy Hedrick came to me as an intern about 4 years ago.  He was one of the last interns I was able to hire..now they go through a screening process.  He was easily the best we ever had on the Ethan and Lou show.

He graduated the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and a mutual friend of ours reached out to me to see if I could help.  I said yes and James came to work for Ethan Carey and I.  Jimmy knew digital editing, had a hunger for radio and had a background in music.  He was perfect.  Jim and I became fast friends and have been close ever since.

We were like brothers from the beginning spending almost everyday together for two years on and off the air.  Our backgrounds were so similar..even our birthdays were a day apart.  Eventually Jimmy had to leave the radio station because he could no longer afford to work for free but we still hang out as often as possible.

After the first year being with the show he met a girl named Natashia and things started to get serious.  I could see this was different for him then girls from the past.  Soon is was clear they were serious and just a short time before my wedding jimmy informed me that he would be marrying Natashia and asked me to be in the wedding.  I said I would be honored.  The wedding is November 7th and both my wife and I are in it.

We are excited to see Jimmy get married but I understand something that I have seen from experience.  It's another man down.  We are down a soldier.  Marriage changes you.  It should change you.  Your priorities have to be in line with your wife and not your buddies.

While Jimmy and I will no longer be able to have those irresponsible single guy afternoons where we ditch what we were supposed to do and head to the bar we have different things to look forward to.  He has 3 kids, I have 3 kids and we will now both be married to women who get along.  I lost a wingman but I gain a lifelong friend who I can share family experiences with and play dates and trips to carnival and apple picking and all that boring crap.  But now we can do it together.  Here's to many happy years my brother.  Love ya.
