Would you dare buy it? Truth be told, even reading about it gives me the creeps. Am I alone in that?

It looks so nice. Actually, it is very, very nice. No wonder the most recent listing on Zillow.com has it listed at $850,000. Yes, 108 Ocean Avenue is pretty amazing. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms, a waterfront view, and dock, what's not to love? You overlook the Amityville River. Oh, hell yeah, you heard me correctly, Amityville.

Yes, the Amityville Horror house is back on the market. The current owners bought it in 2010 for $950,000, so I guess you could say it's a bargain now.

Here's the thing for me, though. We all know the tragic story of the murders in the house, and then the frenzy following the book and movies depicting the haunting of the house. Even if nothing really goes bump in the night, I can't imagine sleeping soundly with my active brain conjuring up evil. And how about the "looky-lous" still creeping by?

You would, however, be owning an iconic home. Perhaps I shouldn't worry considering what listing agent Gerald O'Neill of Coldwell Banker Harbor Light, told Zillow Porchlight:

There’ve been four owners since the murders, and none of them ran out of the house screaming, and there were no strange experiences.

Okay, maybe I'll change my mind about the property. Better yet, you buy it, and invite me over for a party, just not a sleep-over.
