The Home of Rock 'N' Roll has partnered up with American Senior Magazine to give a nod of recognition to local seniors who've done their part in making the Greater Danbury such an incredible place to live.

This week, we give a huge shout out to 65-year-old Mindy Cass from New Fairfield. Mindy was nominated by her 28-year-old daughter, Allie, who had this to say about her mom:

Truly my mom is my hero and is one of the funniest and most caring people I know. She spent the first seven years out of nursing school working as a psych nurse in Rochester, NY. It takes an extra special person to be able to help individuals who are suffering from a mental illness. It turned out that my older brother developed a mental illness in his late teenage years called Borderline Personality Disorder. With that, came addiction issues and two suicide attempts. My mom sought out a special program of support through the National Alliance on Mental Health(NAMI) to learn how to talk with him to encourage and support him during his worst of times. That program is called Family Connections and she trained to become a group leader which lends support to parents of adult children who suffer from BPD. Several times a year, she also helps out at one of Danbury's homeless shelters. My mom, Mindy Cass, is amazing!

It could be a grandfather, aunt, friend, or even your mom. It's easy, just fill out the form below. We'll be accepting submissions between 8/21/17 and 11/21/17.
