The Home of Rock 'N' Roll has partnered up with American Senior Magazine to give a nod of recognition to local seniors who've done their part in making the Greater Danbury such an incredible place to live.

This week, we give a giant shout-out to Joel Levitt of Danbury, who according to his wife, Barbara is an outstanding husband, dad, and especially Pop to his three beautiful grandchildren. Here's what his wife, Barbara, had to say about Joel and his accomplishments:

Joel's career as an Arts educator and administrator for the Danbury Public Schools was exemplary in its advocacy and accomplishments with his staff and all the students in 19 Danbury Schools. Since his retirement, he's founded an arts advocacy organization for people with disabilities, has written an online humor blog, served as president for Congregation B'nai Israel in Danbury. He's taught a Fathering class for Families Network and has counseled many individuals with health issues. Joel's spirit and wisdom affects everyone he meets. He is passionate, honest, and caring. We have been married almost 45 years and we make a great team. I am so proud of Joel's dedication to his family and his community.

Thank you, Joel, for being such a constructive force and inspiration to the Danbury community!

Each week, we'll continue to highlight a Greater Danbury senior who simply makes this wonderful area a better place to live. The featured senior will receive a $50 gift card to use at an area mall and a one year subscription to American Senior Magazine. Is there a senior in your life who deserves some well-earned recognition?
It could be a grandfather, aunt, friend, or even your mom. It's easy, just fill out the form below. We'll be accepting submissions between 8/21/17 and 11/21/17.
