Yesterday, my wife Erica had one simple request of me. She asked me to go to the store and pick up a birthday card for my mom, and I bugged out. You would have thought she had asked me to shingle the roof.

All I seem to care about lately is consuming as much football as possible. It's not just my favorite team the Raiders, and it's not just the NFL. I'm watching hours of college football on Saturdays now. I'm even attending as many local high school games as I can.

This is starting to mess with the rest of my life. I refuse to do anything productive on Sundays, especially things that might interfere with watching football. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem, and I have a big one.

I can't even shut off blowout games. It's even important to me to watch how many interceptions Ryan Fitzpatrick can throw in a given afternoon. I've even convinced myself that I have watched so much football that I could coach it at the pro level.

Is there a support group for people obsessed with football? If so, where? And does it cost anything, because I need to get moving on a solution here?

P.S. - Despite my whining about it, I did pick up the birthday card for my mom.
