So the guys here at the station argue with me all the time that the 90′s was one of the worst decades for music.  I disagree!

This decade did not have the same prolific artists of the 60′s, 70′s or 80′s and was also the birth of the boy band but what we lacked in consistency we made up for in a huge catalogue of genius 1 hit wonder songs from rock bands.  I’m not even saying that to be comical.  Most of the bands I will highlight had only one hit but these hits would overstep the #1 singles on most of the albums of bands from different decades.  Here is a great example:  This is Weezer.  A great exception to pt. 1 of this series in that these guys put out albums that you could listen to front to back.  They were the soundtrack to my high school and college years.  They were self deprecating and intelligent and made references that were so broad that everyone could get something from them.  We live in a world where the geek is "The King" and these guys invented that.  The producers, actors, cast and fans of the:  "Big Bang Theory," "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle," "Comic-Con" all owe a debt to Weezer.  These guys took the music and movie landscape of glorifying the bully from the 80's and turned it on it's head.  GEEK IS KING BECAUSE OF WEEZER!!  Taste this:
